    DVM
    Diplomate American Board of Veterinary Practitioners

    Dr. Zumpano received his veterinary degree from the University California at Davis in 1996 and completed an internship in surgery and emergency medicine at California Animal Hospital in Los Angeles. After completing his training, he worked in southern California, in general practice and emergency medicine.

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Covert started her veterinary career as a veterinary assistant/technician for 13 years working in various general practices and specialty hospitals in Maryland and Georgia before returning to school to pursue her true passion of becoming a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.

  • Allison Gutwillig
    DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Gutwillig, also known as “Dr. G”, is the newest member of the Pikesville Animal Hospital Team. She is a graduate of the University Of Wisconsin School Of Veterinary Medicine and is proud Badger fan. Following graduation, she completed an internship focusing on small animal emergency medicine at the Wisconsin Veterinary Referral Center. Dr.G then joined a small animal clinic in rural Wisconsin prior to the big move to Maryland with her family. Once in Maryland, Dr. G practiced at a clinic in the southern part of the state before relocating to northern Maryland and joining the Pikesville team.

  • Dana Mazur
    RVT
    Practice Manager

    Dana initially had an interest in animal care prior to starting college. After college, life took her towards a successful career in software engineering. With time, she decided she wanted to pursue her original love. With the support of her husband she returned to school and earned a degree as a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2006. Dana has been with Pikesville Animal Hospital since its opening and has been instrumental in leading the nursing staff.

  • Casie Fowler
    Hospital Manager

    Over the past 16 years, Casie has worked in the Veterinary Field, in every department of a hospital. After graduating from Stevenson University in 2010, she transitioned from a Technician, and began focusing in the management aspect of the field. In 2017, she was thrilled to join the Pikesville Animal Hospital Team as the Hospital Manager. She is an enthusiastic, dedicated, and creative person who has a love for animals and Veterinary Medicine! She currently lives at home with her beautiful daughter, Isabella and their fur babies.

  • Katy Riddle

    Nursing Staff

    Katy started her veterinary career after interning at a local veterinary hospital during her senior year in college. She loved the experience so much she went on to Veterinary Technician School at the Community College of Baltimore County. During the two years of Technician School she interned at the Maryland Zoo as well as worked part time at Vinson Animal Hospital and Atlantic Veterinary Internal Medicine in Towson. After graduation in 2007 she continued to work for Vinson Animal Hospital full time as a Registered Veterinary Technician. She enthusiastically joined the team at Pikesville Animal Hospital and has enjoyed the challenge of furthering her knowledge and skills. She lives in Harford County with her husband Josh, their daughter, and lab mix Butters.

  • Taryn Blonder
    Nursing Staff

    Taryn is an Owings Mills native with 10 years experience in animal care. She managed an animal rescue group for 5 years and founded Fur Love Of Paws, a non profit feline rescue group, in 2008. Prior to joining Pikesville Animal Hospital she worked in a cat hospital for 3 years. She has a strong interest in feline behavior and methods of better handling of cats and promoting relaxation in stressful situations. Although she has a strong connection with cats, she loves all animals. She lives with her dog Nemo, several cats, some of which are her own, and the others are foster cats that are waiting for their forever homes.

  • Jessica Twomey
    Nursing Staff

    Jessica is a native of New Jersey and has lived in Maryland for 7 years. After graduating from college with a business degree and working in the banking industry, she knew she that needed a more rewarding career. While dog walking and pet sitting, she decided working with animals was her true passion. In 2011, she joined the Pikesville Animal Hospital team, where she has since enjoyed gaining knowledge and skills in the veterinary profession. This has reinforced her decision to make the career move. She currently lives in Baltimore County with her husband, daughter, and her rescued Labrador mix, Salty.

  • Amy Wheelbarger
    Nursing Staff

    Amy began her career working with animals at age 16 as a cashier in a pet retail store, before transitioning into a veterinarian technician in 2001. She has worked in several small practices and spent a short time with a surgical specialist. Amy missed the personal touch and client interaction and thus returned to general practice in 2012.

    Melissa is a Maryland native who started her career in Veterinary medicine in 1997. Melissa started in an emergency clinic working overnights and then transitioned to a day practice in 2007 when she started her family. Melissa lives in Glen Burnie with her husband, son, labrador retriever, and three rescue kitties.

  • Chrissy Mohr
    Client Services

    Chrissy is a native of Baltimore and has over 18 years of experience working in veterinary hospitals. Prior to joining Pikesville Animal Hospital she was the hospital manager for Banfield, The Pet Hospital in Towson. Chrissy has been with Pikesville Animal Hospital since its opening, helping to manage the front office. Chrissy currently lives in Towson with her husband, daughter, and her Greyhound, Mollie.

  • Allison Kalkstein
    Nursing Staff

    Allison is a native of Baltimore and has always had a passion for nature and conservation. She majored in Organismal Biology and Ecology at Towson University, graduating in December of 2010. Afterward, she interned at the World Bird Sanctuary in St. Louis, Missouri for 5 months. Allison also spent two summers in Sheridan, Wyoming, researching the breeding biology of the Mountain Bluebird and the Tree Swallow. She started her career in veterinary pet care in 2012 and a year later joined the Pikesville Animal Hospital team. She is currently enrolled in an AHAA accredited Veterinary Technician program, and plans on becoming an RVT. She lives in Towson with her husband, Blake, and her two dog-children, Indy and Bandit.

  • Megan Hayes
    Client Services

    Megan has always felt a strong bond with animals. She took her first veterinary position as a kennel assistant at a clinic in her home town. That experience furthered her passion for veterinary medicine and love for rescue dogs. She joined Pikesville Animal Hospital in 2014 with aspirations of becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician. She currently lives in Reisterstown with her husband, Clayton, and their two rescue pitbulls Riley and Coal.

  • Dori Bryan
    Master Groomer

    Dori, originally a native of Baltimore, has over 20 years experience in veterinary hospitals, principally as the head groomer. Along with her experience in showing, Dori’s expertise in grooming, hand scissoring, and coat conditioning has brought many working breeds to their championship status. To further her grooming career, Dori completed all credentialing and testing to become a Master Groomer. Dori is passionate in providing your pet a positive grooming experience as we focus on the health, comfort, and well being of your pet. In addition to caring for the grooming animals, Dori will occasionally help with client services in the morning. She has a fondness for all dogs but a soft spot in her heart for Great Danes.

  • Anne Figurelli
    Certified Groomer

    Anne, who is originally from Pennsylvania, completed her certification in grooming at the Animal Behavioral College and then interned at Animal Instincts Grooming in Vanderbilt, PA. She has over 15 years of experience working with animals, from grooming to volunteering with numerous cat and dog rescues. Anne's volunteer work ignited her passion for the well-being of all animals. As a groomer she is committed to providing her pet clients with the utmost of compassion, consideration of their comfort, and lots of love.

    Rosie aka "Boss Lady" joined our team in the Fall of 2014. She spends her days at the hospital napping between lunch shifts, and occasionally greeting clients at the front desk.
