Kris Covert, DVM

Medical Director

Dr Covert is a native to Maryland.  She worked in the veterinary profession as a veterinary technician/assistant in various general practices and specialty hospitals in Maryland and Georgia, She returned to school to pursue her true passion of becoming a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, graduating from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008, completing her clinical rotations at the University of Pennsylvania.

After graduation, she completed a Large Animal Ophthalmology internship at New Bolton Center followed by a small animal rotating internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington DC. She joined the team here at Pikesville Animal Hospital in 2016. Dr Covert lives on a small farm, with her husband Joe, a lab mix named Ruben and three cats (Foster, Bobbi and Stevie).

In her spare time, she spends time enjoying her lifelong hobby with three horses, Elliott, Zoom and her mini horse Cupid. Her newest addition to the family is Claude, a Lab mix that she adopted from Tru Rescue who you may find following Dr Covert around the hospital making everyone smile.
